So much water, so much good food, so many nice people. I love the colorful houses painted in rich warm colors, the old streets and historic buildings, the lifestyle of bikes and boats, the abundance of fresh air and fresh fish, the architecture with a touch of the east in the turrets and towers. My Northern Europe scenes, like all my work, begin with fresh, direct drawing. Every one was first a sketch, drawn on site in a charming street, along a canal, at a friendly cafe or a site of history and beauty.
